Personal Responsibility
Michael Korda said, "Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility... In the final analysis, the one quality that all successful people have is the ability to take on responsibility."
Characteristics of those who embrace responsibility:
1. They get the job done.
2. They are willing to go the extra mile.
3. They are driven by excellence.
4. They produce regardless of the situation.

4 Rules for Doing the Impossible (Matthew 14:22-33)
Peter did something impossible. He walked on the water. I can imagine some of the other disciples probably thought he had lost his mind. "Walk on the water, you've got to be kidding me." I bet they wished they had been the one who did something impossible. Here are some rules for doing the impossible:
1.You have to ask the Lord (Matthew 14:28)
2.Get your eyes off of circumstances and conditions around you (Get yours eyes on Christ)
3. Don't have a plan B (Peter didn't grab a life jacket)
4. You have to get out of the boat ( Talk is cheap, get started now)
What is impossible in your life? Is it getting along with your brother or sister. Maybe its honoring and obeying mom and dad. Perhaps you think its impossible to listen to the right kind of music, or stay pure until your wedding day. Whatever it is, always remember that nothing is impossible with God!! Matthew 19:26

Why Silly Rules?
I don't know about you, but there are times in my life when I absolutely hate a certain rule. I won't take the time to go into them, but as you read this I'm sure there is one you are thinking of this very moment. Sometimes teenagers think that the reason there are so many rules is to keep them from having fun. That is definitely not the case; the rules are there so you can have fun. Allow me to explain: In Deuteronomy 22:8 the Bible says, "When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence." A battlement was a 3 to 4 ft. structure(much like a fence) that would be placed around the edge of a roof. Of course back then roofs were flat and were used much like a family room would be used today. The reason one would put this battlement around their roof was so they could not be blamed if someone fell off their roof. Ouch!!!!!
Teenager, the reason your parents give you rules is for the very same reason. They don't want you to fall off the roof. Don't look at rules as negative but as a positive. Just ask the kid who broke his arm when he fell off the roof, how much fun he has watching the other kids in the neighborhood playing. Live by God's rules now and you will be blessed later. Otherwise, you may have some pain.

Provers 6:10
" Forsake the foolish, and live..." Did you know that who you hang around will dramatically affect your life? I know everybody has heard of, or experienced peer pressure. Have you ever done something and later wondered why? It is called giving in to peer pressure and it is extremely common. The best way to combat peer pressure is to surround yourself with people who desire to do right. Forsake the foolish friends!!!!!
When I was in high school I learned this valuable truth. It happened at basketball practice. We were just doing a basic layup drill. The coach told us he didn't want us to anything fancy just regular layups. After a few times through a "friend" began to "encourage" me to do a 360 layup. I told him no, but he continued to bug me about it.Pretty soon, half of the team was "encouraging" me to do so. Eventually, I succumbed to the peer pressure. I recieved the pass and went in for my 360 layup. I made it!!!! My teamates cheered. The whistle blew, and I spent the next 25 minutes running suicides. I defintely wasn't living; I felt like I was dying. Young person if you want to live life to the fullest, you better forsake the foolish.
